Many retailers installers and customers have questions regarding which applications the C3 hybrid can work within, and what end users can expect once it’s connected and installed. In this document, we’ll explain the four possible applications.
Application #1: C3 hybrid as a Standalone Unit
Description: The C3 hybrid is installed on its own, separate from any other system in the vehicle.
What it will do after it’s installed: • Door lock and unlock from the phone
• Trunk release and auxiliary output operation from the phone
• Vehicle location and related features (speed alerts, geo-fencing, etc.)
• Remote start (through ADS module on applicable vehicles)
Installation specifics: All analog outputs provide a negative pulse only.
Application #2: C3 Hybrid with Auto Page System Featuring DBI (Data Bus Interface) Connector
Description: A plug-and-play connection provides an Auto Page remote start and/or security system with C3 hybrid features.
What it will do after it’s installed:
• Full security / remote start functionality through Auto Page remote control
• Main feature functionality (lock / unlock, trunk, remote start, aux) through the phone
• Security system status and tamper alerts through the phone via SMS and/or email
• Vehicle location and related features (speed alerts, geo-fencing, etc.)
Installation specifics: Since the DBI port is used, all analog connections on the C3 hybrid are not used. The lock, unlock, trunk, aux and start / stop functions activate the identical features on the Auto Page system. These functions will operate as programmed through the security system.
Application #3: C3 Hybrid with Factory Alarm, Keyless Entry or Remote Start System (or any combination)
Description: Enhances the factory system with vehicle tracking and location, and possible remote start depending on the vehicle make.
What it will do after it’s installed: • Full factory-installed feature functionality through the factory remote control
• Optional emergency lock / unlock through the phone (if connected)
• Vehicle location and related features (speed alerts, geo-fencing, etc.)
• Optional remote start through the phone (if equipped with factory remote start system on an applicable vehicle)
• Optional tamper alert through the phone via SMS and/or email
Installation specifics:• Operating factory remote start may require an ADS module or specific hardwired procedure, depending on the vehicle.
• Emergency lock / unlock is achieved through an analog connection.
• Tamper alert is achieved by connecting the 12V+ input (brown) or 12V- input (blue) to the factory horn wire.
Application #4: C3 Hybrid With an Aftermarket Security / Remote Start System or Auto Page System Without DBI Port 
Description: Upgrades aftermarket security and convenience with vehicle location and long-range basic functionality.
What it will do after it's installed: • Full existing feature functionality through existing aftermarket remote control
• Optional emergency lock / unlock through the phone (if connected)
• Vehicle location and related features (speed alerts, geo-fencing, etc.)
• Tamper alert through the phone via SMS and/or email
• Optional remote start through the phone (if equipped with remote start system with analog trigger)
Installation specifics: • Emergency lock / unlock is achieved through an analog connection.
• Tamper alert is achieved by connecting the 12V+ input (brown) or 12V- input (blue) to the aftermarket system's siren output wire.
